How DentFlow and a clinic that uses it work together, in plain words.

Last changed .

The service

DentFlow is software for dental clinics: supply ordering and inventory, and the clinic’s sterilization, check list, x-ray and daily records. A clinic uses it in a web browser on a computer, a tablet or a phone.

Accounts

Each person has their own account and keeps their own password or passkey to themselves. A clinic’s manager decides who works in the clinic’s DentFlow and can remove anyone who no longer does. A name on a record is the name of the account that made it.

The clinic’s records

A clinic’s records belong to the clinic. DentFlow keeps them to run DentFlow for that clinic. The clinic is responsible for what it records, and for keeping the records the rules it works under ask of it. How the records are handled is on the privacy page.

No patients

DentFlow is not a patient record. Do not type a patient’s name into it, and keep patients out of the photos taken in it.

What the AI reads

When DentFlow reads a photo, what it reads is a suggestion. A person confirms it before it changes anything, and the person who confirms it is the one the record names.

Built for record-keeping

DentFlow is built for RCDSO, IPAC and PIPEDA record-keeping. Using it does not by itself meet any rule: the clinic remains the one an inspection asks.

Changes and ending

DentFlow will change as it is built, and a change that matters to how a clinic works will be told to the clinic before it happens. A clinic can stop using DentFlow at any time and ask for its records first.
